Optical Leveling Amplifier
24LA is an original optical leveling amplifier built around the musical behavior of a light source and photo-resistor. Its deliberately compact workflow makes level control fast, while the response underneath changes with the strength and duration of the material.
Fast, medium, and slow optical memory states produce an immediate recovery followed by a longer tail that adapts to the program.
Peak Reduction drives the optical sidechain; Gain restores level and progressively adds modeled amplifier character.
Choose smooth leveling around a 3:1 slope or a steeper response for stronger peak control.
The smoked-glass display shows gain reduction or calibrated output with a shared segmented bar, numeric readout, and peak hold.
One control signal applies equal gain reduction to both channels to help preserve stereo balance.
Asymmetric tube and transformer behavior stays restrained at normal levels and becomes more present when the output stage is driven.
